Aging, blowout, and spacing
Reviewed August 23, 2026. These are the same rules artists use when they refuse a screenshot of hairline Instagram Unicode: ink spreads slightly over years; counters (holes in letters) close; thin joins disappear first.
- Open letter spacing on small pieces — the spacing slider exists for this.
- Prefer thicker joins (Alex Brush, Pacifico, gothic) over extreme hairline contrast on wrists and fingers.
- Size up rather than cramming a long quote onto a small joint.
- Check contrast on the skin-tone backgrounds before you fall in love with grey ink on deep skin.
- Bring the flash sheet so your artist can pick the weight that will still read in ten years.
Name tattoos and dates
Use the Name only or Name + date preset. Check capitals, hyphens, and accents in the live preview.
