Editorial Policy

CursiveGen is a small tool site, not a magazine. Still, people copy compatibility numbers, style names, and “best generator” claims from pages like this. This policy is the receipt for those claims.

1. Who writes

Product copy, testing notes, and guides are written and edited by Alex Rivera, founder and editor of CursiveGen. Bylines use that name consistently. We do not invent degrees, professional licenses, or LinkedIn profiles we cannot support.

If a page needs a human byline, it is Alex Rivera or it is unlabeled. There is no rotating cast of fake experts.

2. Dated testing claims

Compatibility numbers come from paste tests across real devices and apps, not from marketing adjectives. Last full matrix pass: July 28, 2026 — 49 Unicode styles across the platforms listed on the compatibility matrix. Image export uses 10 self-hosted script fonts.

When a test is dated, the date stays visible. We would rather show an older stamp than pretend a number is live when it is not.

3. What we will not claim

• No fabricated testimonials, star ratings, or Review / AggregateRating schema.
• No invented user counts (“trusted by thousands”) unless we can date the source.
• No “200+ styles” when the Unicode engine has 49.
• No promise that every ornate Unicode range will survive every Android chat client — Fraktur is the working example.
• No doorway pages that only swap “cursive maker” for “cursive generator.” Variant phrases live as in-page sections on the homepage.

4. Illustrative graphics

Editorial images on this site are illustrative graphics generated for layout examples (lined-paper previews, comparison mockups, letterform grids). They are not camera photographs of third-party apps or private user data. Copy that says they are AI-generated illustrations is honest about origin; we do not relabel them as photos.

Generator software tags are stripped from files so the images themselves do not advertise an AI tool in EXIF. The on-page disclosure stays. See the note under the homepage gallery cards.

5. Two products, labeled

Unicode copy-paste and PNG/PDF handwriting export are different jobs. Social bios need the Unicode tool. Print, worksheets, tattoos, and invitations need image export. We will not bury that split in a footer FAQ.

6. Corrections

If a compatibility cell, font count, or platform limit is wrong, use the contact form or email support@cursivegen.com. Material corrections get a visible date change on the page.
