Privacy Policy — CursiveGen Chrome Extension

This policy covers the CursiveGen — Unicode Font Converter Chrome extension published by CursiveGen (cursivegen.com). It does not replace the website privacy policy.

What the extension does

The extension converts text you type or select into Unicode “fancy text” styles (for example Bold Cursive) using a conversion engine bundled inside the extension package. Conversion runs entirely on your device.

What data we collect

We do not collect accounts, analytics, advertising IDs, browsing history, or the content of web pages for our servers. The extension does not phone home.

Local preferences only (stored with Chrome’s chrome.storage.local API on your device):

• Last selected Unicode style — so the popup and “Convert (last used style)” context menu remember your choice.
• Last text typed in the popup — so reopening the popup can restore your draft (optional convenience; you can clear it).

Text you select on a webpage for right-click conversion is processed in memory on your device to produce the converted string. It is not uploaded to CursiveGen.

How data is stored and used

• Preferences stay in local extension storage (not chrome.storage.sync).
• Data is used only to power conversion, preview, copy, and insert features.
• We do not sell data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties.

Permissions

The extension requests only what conversion needs:

• storage — remember last style and popup draft
• contextMenus — right-click “CursiveGen” on selected text
• activeTab + scripting — insert or copy the converted selection on the tab you are using when you invoke the menu
• clipboardWrite — copy converted text from the popup / fallback copy
• alarms — clear the temporary success badge on the toolbar icon

Third-party services

The extension does not load remote scripts, analytics SDKs, or advertising networks. Links in the popup to cursivegen.com open in a normal browser tab; those pages are covered by the website privacy policy.

Data retention and deletion

Local preferences remain until you clear them (use Clear in the popup for the draft text) or uninstall the extension. Uninstalling removes extension storage.

Children

The extension is a general-purpose text tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If our practices change, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be noted in the Chrome Web Store listing.
