Cursive Letter C β How to Write & Copy-Paste πΈ
By Alex Rivera Β· Last updated August 2, 2026 Β· Last tested: July 28, 2026
The cursive letter C is an open crescent: almost an oval that never quite closes. Lowercase c starts with a small undercurve, arcs left and up to the midline, then curves down and right, stopping short of a full circle so the next letter can enter. Uppercase C enlarges that motion into a graceful scoop often used at the start of names. C teaches controlβtoo closed and it becomes an o; too open and the word looks broken. It remains one of the most readable letters in both school script and decorative fonts like Great Vibes.

How to write cursive C
- 1 Undercurve start: Begin with a short undercurve from the baseline into the left side of the letter.
- 2 Open crescent: Arc up to the midline and around, leaving a clear opening on the right.
- 3 Exit glide: Finish with a rightward stroke at mid-to-baseline height for the following letter.
How to connect C to the next letters
Join c into h, a, or e with a mid-height connector that does not re-close the crescent. Into l or t, lift the exit slightly so the tall stem starts cleanly without a kink.
